Ok, this is my first review of Anything, EVER!! I've been checking out VTs for quite a while now. I've always owned higher end knives, you know the ones....$400 bucks or more....Well, when the holidays came around this year, VT had a 50% off sale so I pulled the trigger and got the Ghost and the Reaper. I've got to say that I am really glad I did. I could go one for quite some time about the knives and how well built they are. Very snappy, very sharp and minimal slop to the blade. I am not disappointed and I will buy from ViperTec again!!!

Good solid knife, great hand feel, nice weight to it, strong mechanism, deploys reliably, easy to carry, immediately became my EDC knife. I can't bring myself to spend $400 on a knife from the big name brands, and why would I when I probably derive the same level of enjoyment from my ViperTec as I would from a knife 5 times the price? It's rare I need a knife for anything more than cutting open a package. Mostly it's a nice alternative to a Fidget Spinner lol.

I love this knife, it is solid and functions perfectly. I am disappointed in my last purchase as the blade rattles severely when open. What was most disappointing is I have emailed the support contact twice and have received no response. At this point I do not think I will purchase another knife from viper tec.

I rarely ever write any reviews for products. But this knife deserved it. Look at many different websites for OTF knives. Looks as if I found the Rolls Royce of knives. Craftsmanship is without a doubt top-notch. The weight distribution is perfect. The first time you pickup the knife you'll know that you have a quality product in your hands. The mechanism for the release, and retract inside the housing is solid, and definitely well designed. No failures at all. I strongly suggest that you're looking or pondering which company to go with for a knife stop you've found the right company.

Pretty happy with this knife! Action and feel are much better than I expected and at a very reasonable cost. Only a couple small complaints. I thought I ordered a single edge tanto and I received a double edge which is fine and the blade itself is not very sharp which is also fine because I can sharpen it myself.

Ordered 11/11/20, Received 11/14/20. Purchased for weak hand carry/useage after a canine attack to dominate arm/hand proved problematic regarding cqc and my ability to quickly access carried weapons without further risks to my health (otherwise known as, no way in hell was I going to attempt getting to my weak side boot knife and putting my throat any closer than it already was to what kept trying to get to it). The attack pointed out a flaw in my weapons carry, namely that I had no mid body carried weapon I could access rapidly and safely left handed (also I have to point out that idiotic rules at my town job requires me to keep anything I carry concealed as it's a violation of company policy for me to even be armed, even though we deliver all over town and carry varied amounts of cash on ourselves and in our vehicles). I had previously looked at various otf knives for covert carry on my weak side and had settled on one of two brands, CobraTec and Viper-Tec. Viper-Tec's 30% Veterans Day discount made the decision to purchase from their line of otf knives the obvious choice after the attack. Personally, I go between my families ranch, my metal shop, truck/tractor/heavy equipment repair and a town job doing deliveries in the evenings/nights, so I am always moving and regularly in need of a quick access knife for my offhand side. At this point I have had the knife just a few days over a month and am quite satisfied with the Black Ghost Double Edge D/A OTF, it has been used regularly since its arrival for cutting rope and paracord (thankfully no other uses have been needed). The knifes "firing" is smooth, its lockup solid, the "trigger" switch is properly firm negating a need for a separate safety switch and the blades safety has only engaged during my testing of it (A single sheet of copier paper in front of the blade when engaging was enough to engage the safety and getting the blade back on track was a snap, just pull it out all the way until it locks back in place.). At this time the only problems I would note is how easy the paint/rubbery coating is wearing off where it rubs in the factory sheath and the factory sheath itself (as seems to be the case with most knives now the factory sheath is of a relatively low grade nylon. It would have been nice to have the option to purchase the knife with the kydex sheath, rather than having to buy it with the nylon sheath and purchase the kydex sheath separately.) Overall right now I feel that it is a good quality, budget friendly otf knife, suitable for every day carry (as a offhand, backup or even as a primary). With twice a year maintance and a lifetime warranty it should be around and in use for years to come. Should my experience with the knife change I will revise my review accordingly.

I took mine down to the Ace hardware store and compared it to Benchmade OTFs. Not much difference. I would choose Viper Tech over Benchmade any day. The quality seems similar. The pressure used to open and close the knives were similar. The blade wiggle is the same which surprised me. For 480.00 you'd think if would have none at all. And Benchmade is made in China like many other so called quality knives.

What a solid knife! Very little blade wiggle compared to most OTF knives. Nice and heavy, maybe a little too heavy on the butt end. Considering the Mini for a daily. Blade comes pretty sharp, but can be touched up. Can't wait to get my next Viper-tec.
