The Viper Tec Black Ghost OTF Knife is one of our full-size double action out-the-front automatic knives, combining a 3.5-inch 440C stainless steel blade, ergonomic zinc alloy handle, ambidextrous deployment, and multiple blade styles. Built for customers who want a substantial OTF without unnecessary bulk, the Ghost delivers the classic Viper Tec automatic knife experience in a 9-inch platform. Browse our complete selection of OTF knives to compare additional Viper Tec models, sizes, and blade configurations.
Each Black Ghost features a 3.5-inch 440C stainless steel blade that is hand sharpened and ready to cut right out of the box. Multiple blade styles are available, making it easy to choose the configuration that best fits your preferred carry and cutting needs.
The double action OTF mechanism deploys and retracts the blade using the same spine-mounted sliding button. Push forward to automatically deploy the blade out the front of the handle, then pull back to retract it. The button placement provides convenient ambidextrous OTF operation for both right- and left-handed users.
The smooth, ergonomic black zinc alloy handle provides a solid grip, while the reversible stainless steel pocket clip supports right- or left-handed pocket carry. A built-in glass breaker pommel adds another practical feature to the full-size Ghost design.
Inside, the Black Ghost uses stainless steel precision components and Viper Tec's proprietary coated high-performance spring. This internal construction powers the double-action mechanism responsible for both automatic deployment and retraction.
If you're searching for a black OTF knife, double action automatic knife, 440C OTF knife, full-size out-the-front knife, or ambidextrous automatic pocket knife, the Black Ghost brings these features together in one of Viper Tec's signature OTF platforms.
Compare the Black Ghost with our other automatic OTF knives to find the blade style, size, and configuration that works for you.
Every Viper Tec OTF knife is backed by our Lifetime Warranty.

shipping was delayed, no big deal. Knife has good weight and action
This knife is very well made. It has some weight to it and with the stainless steel insides it should last a long time. The action is very nice. Glass breaker at other end of handle too. I'm very happy with this knife and have recommended viper tec and this knife to friends.
Great quality! The mechanical functions work smooth and fast! So nice I bought another one!
One for work and one for everyday carry.
I’ve actually had this knife for maybe three or four years, but it was out of commission for a while because it wouldn’t fire but I took it apart and got it working again and it’s been great so far. The only question I have is what is the coating on the handle because it’s pretty darn good the tackyness is awesome.
I have only had the Ghost for a little over a week now, and I will say. It has been exactly what I was looking for in every way. Hopefully it stands up to everyday use over time
Nice knife. Well made. Sturdy. Smooth action. Has some weight to it, but it still feels good in hand.
So far this knife has been great, better quality than I was expecting. It has a nice heavy metal feel to it. Sturdy. I use it both at work and as an everyday carry. So far I haven’t had any issues with it.
Love the quality and design of the Black Ghost OTF knife. Blade is very sharp and durable. Comfortable grip and I like the smooth texture of the handle. Currently carrying it everywhere I go.
I love my Viper and really like the quality and action it has. It is very great to know an American company makes such a nice product. Thanks for the great knife and I’m glad you want your customers feelings!! Respectfully Nelson Tobin
Good weight that feels good in the hand. Smooth and ergonomic action. Very pleased with the transaction and the great price!
Grate action, a little heavy. All-around grate knife
Love the knife. Good design, great action, is great quality.
I spent a lot of time looking at different brands, reading reviews, watching YouTube videos before I decided to make my purchase. I don't regret it. I can feel the quality when I hold it. Action is strong, weight is nice, and the warranty gives me a piece of mind. I hope to get the pen next!
Great knife. Works as expected.
I ordered this knife , then the next email I received said that I would get a small otf knife if I spent $69 I did not get it. I have also bought knives for my 4 sons and 2 of my grandsons. Other than that I love your knives and use them every day. They are great knives then I will change the stars to 15.
The knife is great. The action works smoothly and feels heavy enough that I'm not worried this thing is going to shoot out and stab me in the leg on accident.
Perfect fit, weight, and great action. Thank you.
Great knife I love it
I ordered one and the spring seemed to be broke. The correspondence was a little messed up at first but they sent me a new knife. Its great. So I was walking through my local town fair and had a flag engraved on it.
Very impressed with quality of knife, for the price
Solid knife, use it every day
Viper tech black ghost has a good snappy feel and is a solid EDC piece
Excellent knive, made with great materials . Love my knive
Very impress with quality and smooth deployment of blade…. Definitely worth the purchase.
Quick shipping and the knife is really well constructed! Feels extremely reliable and sharp! Can’t wait to get my next one!
Exactly what I wanted. Love it
Feels heavy, strong, good spring. The matte black will scratch around the edges but all of my tactical gear does that, so it's to be expected.
Great look and nice feel. A little expensive but if it is on sale I would recommend it.
I bought this knife for my husband for Valentines day and he absolutely loves it! He said it's great quality! I would definitely recommend!
Bought two and love them. Ordering a few more. Thanks
I absolutely love this knife!! Highly recommended!!! The only thing that I could recommend is making the edges sharper. But once the edges are sharpened this thing is phenomenal. It sounds like a tuning fork when you eject the blade.
love it!
👍👍👍👍👍
As you can tell by the pictures I am a fan of viper tec knives. This knife has very little movement and opens easy. The knife came sharp but could be a little sharper. Even thong it could be sharper it is still a sharp knife. Viper Tec also has great deals to where you can get free knives. This knife looks real good and gets the job done.
I bought one of these about 5 years ago at gun show here in New Mexico. About 7 months ago, I lost it, and was really bummed out, as I loved that knife. Been wanting to replace it, but procrastinated until I saw this awsome sale, and had to pull the trigger. Now I feel whole again. This is a awsome knife, and highly recommend it. You won't be sorry. Rick
Just amazing. Well crafted and fast delivery. Headed back to buy more.
These are the first OTF knives that I have purchased and they are very well made very sturdy very sharp I couldn't be more pleased with this product and will continue to buy from his company 😀
In all honesty I have to say my expectations were not that high but until I received it I was totally and very pleasantly amazed and happy very sturdy very quick OTF, at the present moment I am waiting on another knife LOL so glad I found this company I will be doing more business with them

GHOST TESTIMONIALS

I’ve had several OTF knives and wish I had my money back on most of them to just buy a quality knife like the expensive $200-400 dollar ones, you know who I’m talking about. Well, after having my Ghost for about 3 weeks now, I can say I saved myself a couple hundred bucks and STILL have a quality OTF! The blade was actually sharp when I received it. There is still NO RATTLE after hundreds of times of flicking it in and out ( I have ADHD). The handle has a grippy feel that you will love and hasn’t worn off yet in my 21 days of EDC. Normal cutting tasks like string, packages, etc are no match for this knife. I wouldn’t chop down a tree with it, but I would be comfortable carrying and using it daily. I couldn’t be happier and I’ll probably use the money I saved to buy their balisong style knife! I’m a lefty, so my clip is flipped opposite of how you would receive it

I gave 5 stars because for the money this is a great knife.. You can pay $400 and get a much better knife, but the Ghost is solidly made, functions properly, and sharpens decently. A good entry level knife that I carry fishing in case something needs to be cut quickly.
